Introduction
This evaluation was conducted with a former partner of IKEA Foundation.
The IKEA Foundation commissioned Wageningen University & Research and ETC Consulting to evaluate the Sustainable Landscape and Livelihoods Programme implemented by our partner the Rainforest Alliance. This report combines a rich situational analysis with baseline data. It informs the project’s strategy on how a landscape approach to regenerative agriculture can help smallholder farmers improve their livelihoods and the ecosystem around them. With the intention to adapt the programme’s theory of change, the study makes three key recommendations around:
• the need to more clearly define the scope of the intervention.
• strategies to ensure its effective management.
• the need to design additional metrics to capture the full impact of the programme.
