CaptionsCaptions add critical information to all photos, helping viewers to better understand the context in which the image was made and its relevance to the IKEA Foundation’s work. At a minimum each caption should include:
- If possible the names(s) of the main subjects(s); if this is not possible, please describe their function (i.e “village health advisor” or relation to others in the photo).
- The country where the photo was taken.
- The year the photo was taken and more precise date if relevant.
A credit should always be included with the photos and videos used. Full embedding of credit information in an image is a good way to ensure that this core information stays with the image wherever it goes. The copyright symbol © should appear before any credit. Usually, credit follows this format:
