Projects we fund
The IKEA Foundation funds an innovative project with Women on Wings and brings them together with our partners UNDP and UNICEF in an effort to improve hygiene and access to feminine hygiene products in rural India, where menstruation is a delicate issue.
The project educates women and girls on female health issues, including menstruation, and provides access to sanitary pads, which will help girls stay in school who would otherwise drop out when they reached puberty due to hygiene and lack of sanitation facilities.
The project also helps create women as entrepreneurs by making and marketing sanitary pads in their villages.
The IKEA Foundation is funding Women on Wings because we believe that every girl deserves to be healthy and to have a safe, healthy school environment. We also believe that by empowering women, you can ensure children have more opportunities to create a better life for themselves and others.
