In 1998, the IKEA Foundation donated 250 million SEK to establish the Ingvar Kamprad Design Centre - inaugurated in 2002 - at Lund University, Faculty of Engineering. The IKDC is an institution bridging very diverse academic fields, fostering interdisciplinarity around industrial design.
The Industrial Design Programme reflects and applies new methods and ways of thinking, influential for the IKEA design world. Our current annual contribution is used to part-finance teaching positions, professorships, workshops, international exchanges, research and scholarships.
