Projects we fund
The IKEA Foundation provides funding for 740 scholarships for young women from the state of Pune to help them continue their education in the fields of nursing, physiotherapy, education and engineering.
The project allows women who come from poor and largely rural backgrounds the opportunity to continue their studies. The project not only provides the funding for their education but also gives training on health care and family planning, and provides mentoring to help them graduate and secure jobs.
The IKEA Foundation funds the Lila Poonawalla Foundation because we believe that women’s education plays a key role in improving the lives of children in developing countries.
